The line will receive coils slit in two parallel slitting lines, at present under manufacturing by SALMEC.
Main feature of the new packaging line is its high and updated automation, which will allow the line to run by its own and with minimum operator intervention. It is also designed for an easy extension in case of production requirements increase.
Because of its high interest, we must point out the new contract signed by our partner company SALICO with Brazilian company TUPER, one of the biggest pipes and automotive parts supplier in the country, for the supply of two state of the art and high performance cutting lines:
These two highly technological lines reinforce our market position in the field of thick strip cutting lines.
Spanish steel distributor PLAFESA and SALMEC have signed aa contract for the supply all three cutting lines to be installed in the new steel service center PLAFESA PORTUGAL, located in Aveiro, in the neighborhood of Porto.
Equipment will be supplied in “turn key” basis, including mechanical erection, interconnecting piping and cabling. The lines to be supplied are:
Main lines highlights are eccentric rotary shear in cut to length line, unique in the market, together with two heavy duty levellers to guarantee optimum flatness of the sheets for later laser cutting. Cut to length line is completed with a mechanical stacker, making this line one of the most advanced worldwide.
Both slitting lines are equipped with fast tooling change systems and will download slit coils to a common packing section.
SALMEC and the British company Midland Metals Assets Ltd. have signed a contract for the transfer to Salmec of the intellectual property right owned by Midland Metals in regards to their developments in flat metal strip tension leveling. The agreement includes the transfer of ownership on intellectual property of strip tension calculation software, residual curvature calculations, tension levelers drawings and manuals on fundamentals of strip tension leveling.
Up to now, our tension leveling lines were delivered after payment of royalty fees, which from this moment onward will be no longer required.
